Broadcast in 1982, Wildlife Jubilee is a one-off special celebrating twenty five years of the BBC’s Natural History Unit (NHU). Peter Fiddick presents the programmes and personalities that have added to our appreciation of the natural world, interweaving footage from the Corporation’s numerous productions with commentary from an assortment of high-profile interviewees.

A ‘Who’s Who’ of wildlife filmmaking, the show includes the much loved Animal Magic veteran Johnny Morris, the boisterous Gerald Durrell, and the intrepid Belgian couple, Armand and Michaela Denis, pioneers of early animal documentaries. Offering an interesting insight into the wildlife cinematography domain, some of the world’s top natural history producers, directors and cameramen discuss various filming styles and the latest technological advances.

An enjoyable and diverting special, Wildlife Jubilee is a unique glimpse into the varied world of the famous BBC NHU, revealing the hours of patient work and numerous challenges their high-profile productions involve.
