The Incredible Heap - The Stroy of Garden Compost  (1981)

Wildscreen Film Entry, 1982

Most gardeners use compost but they know virtually nothing of the world they create in makinga heap.  This film shows the processes and organisms that change a pile of garden waste into sweet smelling, crumbly goodness for the garden.  After the first animals have broken down straw and grass cuttings, the heap becomes home to millions of tiny creatures from springtails to slugs, from pseudoscorpions to mice.  this film tells their stories.
