For human beings night is a time of darkness and silence; a period of rest and inactivity. But for any animals it is the reverse, when the major part of their lives is played out. This film sets out to tell the storyof those animals which we seldom see. For example, a fox stalking its prey, the barn owl pouncing on a hapless vole and feeding his young, beetles mating and spiders moulting.
