Released in 1900 by British Mutoscope and Biograph Company, one of the pioneers of early cinema technology, this silent black and white film details a staged confrontation between a tarantula and a scorpion. Filmed in a tin box with a glass front by William K. Dickson in South Africa, Fight Between Tarantula and Scorpion includes close range photography of these two ‘blood-thirsty’ animals as they spar against each other.
